  1. For years and years.. I've read you..

Thanks for being there .. you touch my life with your 'writings' here and other places..

Frugality changed my life.. keep me from not feeling deprived but thinking outside the box.. and making do.. and being able to afford my own home as a single mom.. etc.

  4. I went to the bank today and could not believe the crowds!!!! Last minute everything!!!! I am thankful that through frugal living I could go into the store (bank in the store) and look at all the thinks I DIDN'T need for Christmas because all my shopping was done and cookies were baked! I can now sit on my couch tonight feet up on the couch, in my clean home and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa while watching my favorite movies all thanks to frugal living! Why frugal living? Well in order to save money one has to be organized and prepared! I have been prepared and organized now since September! Hey you know this time of the year can be a frenzy so why add to it by not being ahead of the game?
Today I heard one woman at the store say "Well it is more expensive than I thought ...but who cares Christmas comes just once a year!" While this may be true...I care! I care how much I spend and I care about how much time I spend in line or like today trying to get out of the parking lot (lucky for us I was leaving when the rush of shoppers were just coming!) But like that woman in the store who just threw care to the wind it is THAT attitude that keeps us from reaching our goal of frugal living!!!! So I am THANKFUL for being FRUGAL! Thank YOU Pat for this web sight! Now I am going to also weave me a plastic bag rug to stick in front of my door so that mud doesn't get tracked in with the guest!!! I have finally enough plastic bags to do this neat project!!!! Hope everyone enjoys their time together!!!!!

  9. Hi Just found your blog today. I'm off work and it is to cold and snowy to be out in the barn for long. I live on a small farm in Northern Illinois. We have lived here a long time and it was once country but every year the city closes us in more. We are having a hard time making ends meet. We are lucky not to be terribly in debt, but still have alot of bills to cover each month. My husband has lived on this place since he was born(62 years) and never had an outside job but I think he might have to do something because my job just can't cover everything. I am trying to live as frugly as possible. I will appeciate any ideas. I thank you for allowing me to vent a little.

  10. I hope things get better for you soon. Meantime, I hope that something I've said will help you find ways to save more and be more comfortable with what you have. Try reading the Dollar Stretcher and the forums there and you will find a lot more ideas.

  11. A belated Xmas and holiday greeting to Pat and all of her reader's on her great blog. I'm a newbie, but am discovering I'm with like minded souls here. For me, being frugal means saving $, and another added benefit is that we're often also treading lightly on our planet, by exhibiting less consumerism and excessive waste.
