I know plenty of people use it and no one has reported any health issues with it. There is an "ewww" factor, I know and I don't advocate family cloth for everyone and all the time.

As frugal luck would have it, they're easy to make and chances are that you have something already on hand to make them from.

I say "something" because they can be made from a lot of different things. I've never set one up and have only participated in one scavenger hunt in my life, so I have no advice. (That's not really a first, no matter what it seems like!) ;)
